Larry Flurnoy

Tribal Member

Larry grew up in Poarch when the tribe was struggling in a significant way and opportunities to get involved in Tribal culture and traditions were scant. Though he regrets not having the chance to learn more about Poarch, today he plays a significant role in introducing the Tribe’s reinfusion of culture to his children. Poarch now has the resources to reclaim its culture through programs that include PowWow dancing, teaching Creek language, basket weaving. He is proud that his children are passionate about their roots and that he has contributed to keeping Poarch history alive through their active involvement in the community.
