Madison McGhee & Blake Crook

Tribal Members

Madison and Blake dance in powwows across the U.S., including Poarch’s Annual Thanksgiving Pow Wow. These gatherings of dancing, singing, and fostering friendships are a way to renew and preserve the rich heritage of Native people. Madison dances “Jingle,” a healing prayer dance that she dedicates to those who are sick or who have passed. Blake dances the Northern Great Plains “Grass Dance” thought to symbolize flattening the grass for a ceremony, dance or battle. The intention and rhythm bring these dancers to a place of joy, catharsis and connection.
