As the 2015 Senior Princess, Caitlyn struggled with fears about standing in the limelight to represent Poarch. But she wanted to inspire others like her—to let them know that if she could do it, they could too. Her journey from entering the contest to winning the crown was one of challenging her fears to discover her resilience and new interests. The process led to a deeper understanding of the Tribe’s history and values. She learned to make moccasins, to bead, weave a basket, to sing Creek hymns. Becoming Princess brought Caitlyn closer to her culture, and to a place of confidence as a capable, committed young woman ready to inspire those around her.
